PONTIANAK INFORMASI, INTERNASIONAL – Direktur Jenderal Imigrasi Kementerian Hukum dan HAM, Silmy Karim, baru-baru ini membuat publik terkejut dengan klaimnya yang mengatakan bahwa 1.000 mahasiswa Indonesia pindah kewarganegaraan menjadi warga Singapura setiap tahunnya.
Menurut Silmy, kepindahan tersebut dilatarbelakangi oleh faktor kesempatan yang lebih baik dari sisi ekonomi dan pekerjaan.
“Dari beberapa informasi yang saya peroleh karena faktor kesempatan yang lebih baik,” kata Silmy seperti dikutip dari CNNIndonesiacom, Rabu (12/7/23).
Lebih lanjut, Silmy menyebut Singapura mengambil talenta dari luar negaranya untuk memperkuat kepentingan nasionalnya.
“Untuk memperkuat negaranya, mereka mengambil talenta dari luar negeri yang sudah jadi dan produktif. Kan, kelihatan dari usia produktif dari 25-35,” katanya.
Pekan lalu, di acara Festival Gen Z 2023, Silmy mengatakan kini Indonesia berebut dengan negara lain untuk mendapat sumber daya yang lebih baik.
Lebih lanjut, Silmy menjelaskan bahwa Indonesia perlu meningkatkan sumber daya manusia untuk semakin memajukan bangsa ini.
“Bersaing kita merebut orang-orang hebat, orang-orang pintar,” kata Silmy.
Silmy menegaskan masa depan bangsa ditentukan oleh pemerintah dan masyarakat yang bersatu. (ad)
