PONTIANAK INFORMASI, LOKAL – Dua tersangka kasus narkoba berinisial AS dan RD, yang saat ini ditangani oleh Polda Kalimantan Barat, dihadapkan pada ancaman hukuman serius, termasuk hukuman mati, atas perannya dalam peredaran narkoba. Keduanya diduga terlibat dalam peredaran sabu seberat 7,6 kilogram.
“Ancaman hukuman untuk kedua tersangka adalah pidana penjara mulai dari lima tahun hingga hukuman mati,” ungkap Direktur Reserse Narkoba Polda Kalbar Kombes Pol Thelly Iskandar Muda, di Pontianak, seperti dikutip dari Antara, Kamis.
Barang bukti utama dalam kasus ini, yakni 7,6 kilogram sabu, telah dimusnahkan oleh pihak berwenang pada Selasa, 12 September 2023. Kedua tersangka saat ini masih menjalani proses hukum dan akan menghadapi persidangan.
Sebelumnya, tersangka AS ditangkap oleh tim gabungan bersama barang bukti sebanyak 5,6 kilogram narkoba jenis sabu di tepi jalan depan SPBU Kecamatan Beduai, Kabupaten Sanggau, pada 31 Agustus 2023. Sementara itu, tersangka RD ditangkap bersama barang bukti 2 kilogram sabu pada 7 September 2023.
Kombes Pol Thelly Iskandar Muda menjelaskan bahwa kedua tersangka diketahui sebagai kurir dalam jaringan narkoba tersebut.
Pihak berwenang berharap bahwa kasus ini dapat menjadi pembelajaran dan mendorong efek jera terhadap para pelaku penyalahgunaan dan peredaran narkoba di wilayah Kalimantan Barat.
Kombes Pol Thelly Iskandar Muda menekankan komitmen pihak berwenang dalam upaya memberantas peredaran narkoba dan mengajak semua pihak, termasuk masyarakat, untuk bersama-sama berperang melawan peredaran narkoba di wilayah tersebut. (ad)
